‘Healing is simply a state of deep listening.’ – Florenzo
What is healing but a state of deep listening? Can we have one without the other? What is ‘deep listening?’ In my opinion the definition of deep listening comes down to two words: Attentive action.
The power and discipline to act through the stillness of ones being, to attentively move toward what is. There is no running away from deep listening, only magnetic, pulsing information available for us to move through.
In order to ‘heal’ we must listen and be heard. Be listened to with reverence, free of judgement, present in the awareness of the Self.
This is about stilling your inner space to hear the voice of a wave breaking, or the shift in summer loosening its grip at last, the sun’s tug as it echoes its way across the horizon.
Many of us are healers. Many of us, in the name of healing, desire to serve.
Many of us seek through methodologies, imprints, blueprints, codes, courses, teachings..
Before we can see… do we hear? Listening for pleasure. Listening for joy. Listening to serve a greater purpose. I have often felt that sound comes to us before light.
What if, will all of that, it is primarily in the void, the liminal, unfiltered, raw evocative minute MOMENT of stillness prior to action.
In deep listening…
that healing truly occurs.
I believe there is an extra sense within us all which is activated when around horses, one could say it is the Heart centre which gets magnified, amplified through the heart centre of the horses we are with. I feel it is a myriad of different internal choices which are made all at once, the desire to truly hear in a world full of noise, is one of them. The desire to truly feel, and feel felt, in a world full of stimuli for the mind, is another. Through our living sate with horses a new world emerges, there is presence in the art of being which one finds. For me, listening is the tool to the divine, and yet what comes first? What is the point of listening before listening is engaged? Stillness, intention? The horses say joy, a spark of joy, which we may not always feel, yet which is wholly present at all times. Joy. The joy to listen, the joy to find the words we are too afraid to hear ourselves or others say, the joy to gift another with the healing prayer of being heard. Joy. An infinite spark, forever engaged, dynamic, and true.
To externalise it a bit more, what about being truly listened to brings you joy? What about truly listening brings you joy? And what about healing, ignites something far deeper than the surface day to day living piece of life we have become accustomed to.
