Signs: Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, Scorpio
Elements: Earth, Fire, Air, Water
Numerology: X
Numerologically speaking the number X is represented by wholeness, completion, and is a portal number for us to step through into the next phase of our lives. The number X can also be a pause number, the still point after an inhale or exhale, where the magic of the present moment is curating our reality. Spiritually speaking the number X can also be represented by divine order and perfection in all things.
Message from Dilara:
When it comes to the Wheel of Fortune we are invited to take a pause, to stop what we are doing and feel into the moment. The Wheel of Fortune does bring with it the information for our next phase, however, the first step of receiving or tuning into that information is for us to pause and reach into our balanced elemental being, drawing into existence the spaciousness for what we are about to experience.
This card can also symbolise a simple turning point in our lives, and is often seen as a marker for our Saturn return, regardless of what age we are. Because of this cyclical energy within the card, the laws of Karma and reincarnation are also woven into it.
The main word I tend to feel when this card appears is initiation. The Wheel of Fortune seems to always invite us into an initiation of some sort, reminding us that through the stillness in the movement, the movement will re-appear in an alchemised form, one way or another. There is also a calling to surrender into the mystery with this card, when we have tried and tried and tried and nothing seems to be going ‘our way’ we must let the way of the universe move life for us. Meaning, the choice to stop and listen may be the most effective and productive choice to make.
This card can also represent coming into the limelight. The four winged beings in each corner of the card represent the four fixed zodiac signed in the zodiac wheel: Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, and Scorpio. Together, they bring a sense of balance into the card as they illuminate the four elements, with the centre of the card being the fifth.
Scorpio – water, intuition, flow, creativity.
Taurus – Earth, grounding, stability, structure, and the material world.
Leo – Fire, passion, strength, heart, love, and courage.
Aquarius – Air, communication, intellect, curiosity, and choice.
The figures could also represent the four Evangelists in Christianity, bringing in the energy of study, wisdom, and learning (life lessons). These figures remind us of the possibility inherent within us when we choose to pause, reflect, lean into the initiation, and return to our most basic and primal aspects – the elements which make up our experience of life.
Questions to consider:
Reversed:
Reversed, The Wheel of Fortune really ties us in with the energy of flip flopping between one outcome and the next. For some, this will reveal itself as stagnation, over indulgence as a form of avoidance, carelessness, and a lack of careful study of the moment.
The Wheel of Fortune reversed is also a mirror of itself (which could be said for all cards). Meaning, that balance is possible through strife and the challenge brings forth the life lesson. Stagnation can reflect the ramped up energy of decisiveness, with this card reversed you are presented with a choice to look at your life in the inverse.
Take your current circumstances and flip them on their head. See what the universe wants to say to you through that choice.
Message from the Herd:
Breaking open happens when the light wills itself to be in flow, not by pushing or striving or depending. In its being, it expands, in its evolutionary cycle of expression it evolves towards the very axis you deem to be the heart. When you remember that why you live your life depends on the choices you make you will find yourself embodying the essence of this card.
The Wheel of Fortune favours the brave for it takes courage to be in the centre of any situation, to encompass energy, fully. When the sleeves of faith are taught, the pathway to feeling is cut short. When you let the fabric of your nature slip and unfold, you are seamless.
We will not talk of pausing, instead we share the beauty of recognising potential. To recognise potential in the moment, what do you need? You need to choose to be still. You need to choose to open your eyes. The eye in your heart must dissolve into the expanded nature of your soul.
In which moments of your life do you touch the expanded nature of your soul? When you are in the in-between, when you are in need, when you require a phase which feels different to the present moment you are experiencing. We recommend with The Wheel of Fortune, to precisely examine the root of where you are choosing to pin point your focus.
As the wheel spins so do you thoughts, as nature cycles so does your body, as the wind shakes what is rooted so do you actions, as the fire engulfs and cleanses so does your remembrance.
We advise, with the presence of this card to let your choices bring you into a deeper state of expanded awareness, with humble steps and recognised fortitude.
Reversed:
Reverence takes time, unless the one who seeks already embodies its flavour, it takes time. Therefore, the music of experience must slip and change its tune, marking itself a sleeper no more, ensuring it is heard by those who have grown accustomed to its melody. This is The Wheel of Fortune reversed. A rhythm held up, still steady yet changed. You are that rhythm and that rhythm has a purpose, to be held and understood by the body, mind, heart, and soul.
